The coin is dedicated to the bee personifying wisdom, prolificacy and diligence. Issued into circulation on March 25, 2010.
Obverse:
On the coin obverse: within the circle of beads there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, above it – 2010 (the coin issue year), on the left Au 999,9 (coin metal and its fineness) and on the right – the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint and the coin weight in fineness – 1,24; between the circle and the coin edge there are the semicircular legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) underneath.
Reverse:
On the coin reverse: there is depicted the bee with the semicircular inscriptions - above БДЖОЛА (Bee) and APIS MELLIFERA beneath.
