Trypilia

Commemorative coin of 20 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to Trypilia culture, one of the brightest agricultural and cattle-breeding cultures of en eolith (4th-3d century B.C.), which points of interest are important source for studying the history of ancient Europe. The name originates from the settlement of the same name in Kyiv region, investigated at the end of 19th century. In circulation since December 20, 2000.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse in the centre of internal ring and on the background of rye spikelets there is a depiction of a symbolic wheel of history with a sitting falcon, beneath of which, a snake is depicted and above there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine; within the external ring, there is a depiction of a cowboy, to the left and, a girl with spikelets, to the right as representatives of cattle-breeding and agricultural tribes, the Mint logo and inscriptions: УКРАЇНА / 2000 / 20 / ГРИВЕНЬ.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse within the internal ring there is a depiction of a clay antroph-amorphous statuette from Volodymyrivka settlement in Kyiv region; within the external ring there is a depiction of specimen ware of Trypilia culture having a characteristic ornamental pattern and a conventionalized inscription: ТРИПІЛЛЯ.
