On the obverse side of the 50 BYR gold coin, silver and copper–nickel coins are located: at the top – the relief of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center – a stylized image of sword remind a shape like a man: on a gold coin – on the background image of cracked earth, on the silver and copper–nickel coin – on the background image of chain armor; inscriptions along the rim: at the top – "РЭСПУБЛIКА–БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom – 50 РУБЛЁЎ (FIFTY ROUBLES) (on a gold coin), 20 РУБЛЁЎ (TWENTY ROUBLES) and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (ONE ROUBLE) (on a copper–nickel), fine alloy standard (on a gold and silver coin) and a year of issue.
