The coin is dedicated to the autonomous administrative-territorial unit in the south of Ukraine, located on the Crimean peninsula, which is washed by the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. Crimea has a huge resort-recreational potential, which provides natural resort factors and unique landscapes, is famous for numerous archeological, historical, cultural, architectural and urban-like monuments. The rich history of Crimea and the peoples that formed its present ethnic identity - Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, Russians, Greeks, Armenians and other ethnic and ethnoconfessional communities. In 2014, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was insidiously occupied by the Russian Federation. Forcible annexation of the Crimea is not recognized by the Ukrainian state and the international community, who consider the peninsula to be temporarily occupied by the territory.
