Saint Kyryl Church

The commemorative coins are dedicated to the famous architectural and historical monument of XII century – St. Cyril Church in Kyiv, wherein the Grand Duke Sviatoslav, a hero of the Ancient Rus poem “The Lay of Igor’s Campaign” was buried in 1194. Issued into circulation on November 8, 2006.

Obverse: 
On the obverse of the both coins there is a composition of M. Vrubel “Angels with Labara” from paintings of St. Cyril Church, above there is the semicircular inscription -- НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (The National Bank of Ukraine), below it - the year of coinage -- 2006, the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, underneath – the denomination: on the silver coin -- 10 / ГРИВЕНЬ (10 hryvnias), the kind of metal and its fineness -- Ag 925, its weight in fineness -- 31.1; on the coin of German silver -- 5 / ГРИВЕНЬ (5 hryvnias). The both coins have the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
Reverse: 
On the reverse of the both coins the St. Cyril Church is depicted with the inscriptions: above the semicircular one - КИРИЛІВСЬКА ЦЕРКВА ХІІ СТ. (St. Cyril Church of the ХІІ century), below - КИЇВ (Kyiv).
