Vasile Alecsandri 180th Anniversary
Vasile Alecsandri (21 July 1821 – 22 August 1890) was a Romanian poet, playwright, politician, and diplomat. He collected Romanian folk songs and was one of the principal animators of the 19th century movement for Romanian cultural identity and union of Moldavia and Wallachia.

following the coin circumference– the inscription "REPUBLICA MOLDOVA" is engraved in block letters.
Reverse:
on the central part -the effigy of Vasile Alecsandri, a book and a writing feather;
on the right part ,upper–a landscape;
on the bottom part , following the coin circumference - the inscription "VASILE ALECSANDRI" , the years "1821-1890" is engraved in block letters.
