New Abkhazian coin 20 years of liberation of the town of Gagra

On October 1st, 2012 the Bank of Abkhazia issues into circulation the silver commemorative coin "20 years of liberation of the town of Gagra" of 10 apsars denomination of the series «».

The silver coin  "20 years of liberation of the town of Gagra" of 10 apsars denomination of the series  fine precious metal content 31,1g, finennes 925, diameter 39,0 mm.

The rim is raised on both sides of the coin. The edge of the coin is corrugated. The quality of the coin is proof-like. The artist: Japua B.R. Mintage: 500 pcs. Coinage -

The obverse: in the upper central part of the coin on the mirror field – the relief picture of the emblem of the Bank of Abkhazia. Under the emblem – the inscription in abkhazian “Аҧсны Абанк”(The Bank of Abkhazia), above it – the semicircular inscription that indicate the denomination of the coin “10 ҦСАРК” (10 APSARS), to the right - the mint trade mark in which there is an indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I.Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements and the fineness. In the lower part of the coin on the matted field and raised small print inscriptions of five lines “Аҧсны Абанк” - the year of issue «2012».

The reverse: in the center - the figure of a member of volunteer corps in a bashlyk with a gun against the mountain «Мамзышьха» (Mamzishkha), to the left - the inscription «XX лет» (XX years ), to the right – a conditional operation plan for the liberation of the town of Gagra, along the rim – inscriptions in abkhazian: above – «Вечная память героям» (Eternal memory to the heroes), below – the ribbon image with inscriptions, in the center of the composition – two crossed swords pointing upward that symbolize a military valour and the Victory, inscriptions on the ribbon: in the central part - «ГАГРА»(Gagra) and dates: to the left – «06.10.1992», to the right - «06.10.2012».

The coin is a legal tender of the Republic of Abkhazia at par value equivalent to Russian rubles. 1 apsar is equal to 10 rubles of the Russian Federation.
