Jean Garzou

This gold commemorative coin issued by the Central Bank of Armenia is dedicated to the centenary of Jean Garzou's birth. Jean Garzou (Garnik Zoulumyan, 1907-2000) is an Armenian artist. He has graduated from the Paris Architectural School. Participated in exhibitions and salons in Paris. Specialized in painting landscapes, portraits and still life genres, he has launched personal exhibitions in many cities worldwide. Jean Garzou is famous for his desire to peculiar imaging and style and also known as a scene painter and book-illustrator. The obverse of the coin depicts the lithography 'Vanq' (church), 1981.

Obverse: 
The inner circle of the obverse of the gold commemorative coin dedicated to the 100th annivearsry of J.Garzu depicts his lithography "Vank" ("Monastery"), under which the nominal value of the coin - 10,000 drams is given. The outer circle has the insription of the organization which issued this commemorative coin and the year of the issue - "The Central Bank of Armenia 2006".
Reverse: 
The coin's reverse has the portrait of J.Garzu, with his name in Armenian inscribed in the upper right side.
