Trout

This silver commemorative coin depicting the Trout has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia under the International Program "Wild World of Caucasus". The Program includes animals that are protected under the Red Book of Armenia. Trout dwells in the Lake Sevan, Armenia, mainly in its littoral areas. A sharp decrease in quantity of Trout is caused by violation of its reproduction conditions - drainage of littoral areas, deteriorating dwelling areas and mass poaching. Protection of Trout is organized by increasing its vitality and creating artificial spawns in the Lake Sevan.
