The Sun God

issued in 22 December, 2000. Series of coins called "Petroglyphs of Kazakhstan", devoted to rock painting from ancient times. Tengi (Sun God) - is a male deity. The Tamgaly Tract, southern extremity of Shu are the Ili mountains. The Bronze Age, the Tamgaly tradition, second half of II millenium B.C.

Obverse: 
On the obverse of the coin against a background of the national ornament elements, the figure "500" is shown. Under it there is the inscription "ТЕҢГЕ", indicating the face value of the coin. On the upper side of the coin is a heraldic representation of a spiral. Circling the coin is a wide salient edging, on which the legend "ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" in the Kazakh language and the figure "2000", indicating the year of coinage, are located.
Reverse: 
At the back side of the coin against a background of conventionalized gravestone the representation of the Solar Deity from the Tamgaly Tract is located. At the left sector of the coin, the legend "Ag 925 24 gr." indicates the metal of the coin, its standard and weight. On the right side is a trademark of the Kazakhstan Mint. Circling the coin is a wide salient edging, on which the legends " КӨК ТӘҢІРІ " " ТАМҒАЛЫТАС ", in Kazakh, and "THE SUN GOD" "THE TAMGALYTAS", in English, are located.
