Obverse: In the center the State Emblem of Kazakhstan is depicted against ornamental background. In the lower part "50 ТЕҢГЕ" means face value of the coin. On the circumference there are legends "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫҚ БАНКI" and «РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН» (National Bank of Kazakhstan, in Kazakh and Russian).
Reverse: 
Reverse: A woman putting a baby to his cradle is depicted against a background of stylized jurt decoration. The upper part indicates an inscription  «БЕСIККЕ САЛУ» - the name of this custom. 2006 means year of coinage. To the left of the main image there is an inscription "Ag 925  31,1gr." which means the metal of the coin, fineness and weight, and trade mark of Kazakhstan mint.
