Genoese Fortress in the town of Sudak

Commemorative coin of 10 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to the distinguished middle-age fortified structure of 14th-15th centuries located in the former capital of Soldai consulate of the city of Genoa in Crimea-Sudak. The fortress majestic ramparts and towers had been constructed during 100 years and now belong to the most attractive world monuments. In circulation since May 30, 2003.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse obverse the fortress plan is depicted, in the centre of which on the background of a conventionalized ornamentation there is a two-lined inscription: 10 ГРИВЕНЬ; on both sides there are figures of a warrior with an arbalest (right) and a wine-grower (left); to the left there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions: УКРАЇНА (above), 2003 (left); beneath there is a designation of metal - Ag 925 and its pure weight - 31,1, as well as the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine is depicted
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse the fortress is depicted on which background, beneath  the dates - 14th-15th cc are depicted, between which there is a heraldic board with emblems (of Genoa doge, Genoese republic and consulate) which decorate one of the fortress towers. Left of the fortress there is a merchant ship and circular inscriptions: СУДАК (above, left) and ГЕНУЕЗЬКА ФОРТЕЦЯ (beneath).
