Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there is a depiction of Small State Emblem of Ukraine in the center of a pattern ornamental  interpreting the interior decorated ceiling of the main institute building. Around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 2 ГРИВНІ, 1998.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a depiction of the main institute building (architect I.S.Kitner, 1901). Around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: КИЇВСЬКИЙ ПОЛІТЕХНІЧНИЙ ІНСТИТУТ, 100 РОКІВ.
