New Belarus coins: Aquarius

The National Bank of Belarus on November 27, 2009 puts into circulation new silver and copper-nickel commemorative coins “Aquarius” of the “Signs of the Zodiac” series 
  
The bank had 25,000 silver “uncirculated, oxydated” “Aquarius” coins with the nominal value of 20 Belarusian rubles (Br) minted for it in Poland. A 20-ruble silver coin is 38.61 millimeters in diameter and contains 28.28 grams of 925 silver.   
  

A copper-nickel “brilliant uncirculated” coin is 32 millimeters in diameter with the nominal value of 1 Belarusian ruble. The central bank had 10,000 copper-nickel coins minted for it.   
  

The head of all coins pictures an impression of the sun and moon. Twelve signs of the zodiac form a circle; below them is the sign of the Aquarius and inscriptions AQUARIUS in Latin and ВАДАЛЕЙ in Belarusian.   
  
In the lower part is the standard of alloy (for silver coins) and mint year, as well as the words РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ in the upper and ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ for silver coins and 1 РУБЕЛЬ for copper-nickel coins.   
  
The tail of the coin pictures an embossed image of a water-carrier with a synthetic crystal (on a silver coin).   
  
The coins are a legal tender of Belarus for all debts, public and private without restriction.
