On September 15th, 2017, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation the commemorative coin "500 Years Since the Beginning of the Reformation" of 5 hryvnia face value.

The formal beginning of religious-social movement in Europe associated with the performance of the German reformer, doctor of theology at Wittenberg University, Martin Luther. In 1517 he published his famous 95 theses, which were aimed against the practice of selling indulgences. Luther emphasized that a person reaches salvation not through the Church and its rituals, but by faith given to her directly by God. The influence of the reformation in the Ukrainian lands was manifested in the democratization of the Church, its approach to people. Started to create national schools, druken, translated the Bible and liturgical books of the living Ukrainian language

The coin is made from German silver, quality− “special uncirculated”, weight – 16.54 g, diameter – 35.0 mm, mintage – 40.000 pieces. The coin edge is grooved.
