15th of May 2017 the Central Bank of Armenia issued a silver commemorative coin Anniversary of Membership of the Republic of Armenia to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The idea of creation of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank originated at the International Currency Conference organized in Bretton Woods, USA, in 1944. The conference hosted delegates from 44 countries. The participants have expressed their readiness for long-term cooperation in order to promote economic recovery of the countries affected by World War II and to reduce the negative impact of the global economic crises in the future.
The Republic of Armenia became a member of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in 1992. Since the establishment of cooperation many projects have been carried out and loan agreements signed.
