New Kazakhstan coin Petropavl

The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the issue, effective from December 20th 2016, of the commemorative coin Petropavl from the “Cities of Kazakhstan”.

Petropavl (Kazakh: Петропавл/Petropavl), also known as Petropavlovsk (Russian: Петропавловск, Petropavlovsk, not to be confused with Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky), is a city on the Ishim River in northern Kazakhstan close to the border with Russia, about 261 km west of Omsk along the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is the capital of the North Kazakhstan Region. Population: 201,446 (2009 Census results); 203,523 (1999 Census results).

Obverse: 
Face value «50 ТЕҢГЕ» in the center; the ornamental octagonal outlet at the top and an element of the national ornament at the bottom; the abbreviation «ҚҰБ».
 
Reverse: 
Image of Petropavl coat of arms in the center, «ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ» and year of coinage «2016» along circumference. Inscriptions and number are divided by points.

Face value: 50 tenge, Diameter – 23 mm, weight – 4,71 gram;

The lateral surface (drove) is reeded. Mintage: 50000 pcs.
