New Ukrainian coin Bohdan Khmelnytsky

The National Bank of Ukraine has released  silver commemorative coin "Bohdan Khmelnytsky" under  coin series on December 24th 2015.

Bohdan Zynoviy Mykhailovych Khmelnytsky (c. 1595 – 6 August 1657), was the Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth (now part of Ukraine). He led an uprising against the Commonwealth and its magnates (1648–1654) which resulted in the creation of a Ukrainian Cossack state. In 1654, he concluded the Treaty of Pereyaslav with the Tsardom of Russia.

Commemorative coin “Bohdan Khmelnytsky" of 10 hryvnia face value is made from 925-fine silver, weight in fineness – 31.1 g; quality − “proof”; diameter 32 mm.

The commemorative coin is available for sale at the regional branches of the National Bank of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine’s distributors selling commemorative coins.

The commemorative coin “Bohdan Khmelnytsky" of 10 hryvnia face value is a legal tender of Ukraine and shall be accepted without any restrictions at its face value for all types of payments as well as for placing to the settlement accounts, on deposits, for letters of credit and transfers.
