Arkadz Kulyashou. The 100th Anniversary

Arkady Kuleshov (February 6 1914 - Fabruary 4 1978) - Belarusian Soviet poet, translator, the national poet of the Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR), winner of two Stalin Prizes, the State Prize of the BSSR named after Yanka Kupala, Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus. Member of the Union of Soviet Writers. Member of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the 2nd-8th convocations (1947-1978). His first publication was in 1926. In 1930 a young poet published his first book “The heyday of earth”. In total he published 25 books of poetry, wrote 10 poems. He translated works of classical poetry from Russian, Ukrainian and other languages. The illustration in the center of the obverse of the coin has been stylized to the poem by A. Kuleshov “My Besed” (Мая Бесядзь): (Кажуць, што рэкі птушкамі створаны, — Такімі малымі на першы пагляд, — Капалі і ў дзюбах адносілі ў бор яны Мяшэчкі з зямлёй I ляцелі назад……     Я, ўпарты, не кіну пачатае справы,     Каменне крышу,     Разграбаю пяскі,     Пад кпіны аматараў лёгкае славы     Капаю рэчышча ўласнай ракі. З надзеяй гляджу на крыніцу спатканую, Хачу, каб яна разлілася ракой... Не Волгай магутнай, Не нават Камаю, Хоць Беседдзю, што на радзіме маёй…..)
