The coin is round. The rim is raised on both sides of the copper–nickel coin. The edge of the silver coin is not corrugated, copper–nickel coin is corrugated.

 

Obverse: in the center of a circle consisting of 12 characters, Signs of the Zodiac , the image of sun and moon, beneath – the astrological sign of Virgo, and the inscriptions: Latin – "VIRGO", the Belarusian language – "ДЗЕВА"; at the top – the relief of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; beneath – year of issue, alloy standard; inscriptions along the rim – at the top: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), beneath: face value "20 РУБЛЁЎ" (20 ROUBLES) – on silver coin and "1 РУБЕЛЬ" (1 ROUBLE) – on copper–nickel coin.

 

Reverse: within the circular geometric ornament, in the center – the stylized image of Virgo with an inset of artificial transparent crystals on silver coin.
