15th anniversary of national currency

This silver commemorative coin with nominal value Dram 5000, issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia is dedicated to the 15 th anniversary of introducing national currency in Armenia. Armenian national currency (Dram) was put into circulation on 22 November, 1993 based on Resolution N 15 of 19 November, 1993 of the Armenian State Commission on Regulation of Money Circulation. The logotype of the Central Bank of Armenia and the graphical symbol of Dram are depicted on the reverse of the coin.

Obverse: 
The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia is depicted. In the centre of the coat of arms there is a shield. The coats of arms of the Armenian historical kingdoms are made with the gilding on the shield. Between the linear circle and the edge of the field there is a round inscription “Republic of Armenia “ in Armenian and below is the year of issue ”2008”.
Reverse: 
The symbol of the Central bank of Armenia is made with the gilding. In the centre of the symbol the sign of the national currency – dram – is depicted, and at the bottom there is a face value “5000 dram” in Armenian. Between the linear circle and the edge of the coin there is a round inscription “15 Anniversary of the national currency” in Armenian.
