Sydir Kovpak

The commemorative coin is dedicated to Sydir Artemovych Kovpak, a famous son of the Ukrainian people, military leader and statesman, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, which in 1941-1945 was the commander of the Putyvl partisan unit and allied partisan units of Sumy region.

Obverse: 
On the obverse there are: to the left, against the dark background, the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the inscription Національний банк України (National Bank of Ukraine) thereunder, below - the coin face value and issue year 2 ГРИВНІ/2012 (2 hryvnias/2012) and the National Bank of Ukraine Mint logo; in between there are a laurel branch and two Gold Star medals of the Hero of the Soviet Union; to the right, against the light background, there are a conventionalized image of the book cover, inscription `Від Путивля / до Карпат` (from Putyvl / to the Carpathians) and Kovpak`s facsimile signature.
Reverse: 
On the reverse there is a portrait of Sydir Kovpak against the background of a map together with the legends to the left: Сидір Ковпак (Sydir Kovpak) - bow-shaped, and 1887-1967 - his life years.
