Kanysh I.Satpayev

Date of issue: 5 April 1999. Edge: 10 sectors of corrugation. Coin devoted to the 100th anniversary of Kanysh I. Satpayev. Academician Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev was a prominent scientist, and was the first President of the Academy of Science of Kazakhstan. By his genius and hard work K. I. Satpayev created and headed the school of geology and significantly influenced the development of geological science.

Obverse: 
On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription "20 ТЕҢГЕ". From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫҚ БАНКI" (National Bank of Kazakhstan).
Reverse: 
On the back side of the coin, at the left side the portrait of academician Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev is represented. To the right of the portrait, the inscription "100 ЖЫЛ" is located in two rows. At the bottom is a semicircle inscription "Қ.И. СӘТБАЕВ" and the date "1999", indicating the year of coinage.
