Manas-1000

In commemoration of the millenary of the epic "Manas", the National Bank issued gold jubilee coins of 100-som denomination on August 11, 1995. The numismatic jubilee coins "Manas-1000" are the first coins in the history of the independent Kyrgyz Republic. They are minted from gold extracted in independent Kyrgyzstan, and have the first-rate international quality "proof".

Obverse: 
On the obverse of the gold coin the image of armed, riding a horse, Manas against the relief number of 1000 is located. The composite decision reflects the image of Manas carried in the memory of the Kyrgyz people through many centuries as the symbol of unification and fortitude. The horseman holds a spear in the left hand not in a fighting position that emphasizes a peaceful character of the hero - defender. The inscription "Aykol Manas" in the top part of the coin testifies to its meaning of "Manas Magnanimous". The par value of the coin - "100 som" - is indicated in the bottom part. In the left part there is the code indicating the weight of the coin and fineness of gold (Au 999/6,22).
Reverse: 
On the reverse of the coin there is an emblem of the Kyrgyz Republic and the year of issue of the coin framed by the national ornament. In the center of the emblem the image of a white falcon with outspread wings, symbolizing freedom and independence of Kyrghyzstan, is painted against the lake and the shoots of Ala-Тоо with the rising sun.
