Ice Breaker "Captain Belousov"

The coin is dedicated to an ice-breaker which for 50 years has been trailing other boats and which is named after Mykhailo P. Belousov (1904 – 1946), an experienced polar captain and Hero of the Soviet Union. Since 1994 the ice-breaker belongs to the Mariupil state merchant marine and it is still under operation. In circulation since November 16, 2004.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse to the left there is a depiction of an anchor and a steering-wheel and on its background there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine is depicted, in the middle there are horizontal symbolic waves under-and above which and to the right from the anchor there are inscriptions: on the silver coin: УКРАЇНА/2004  (above), 5/ГРИВЕНЬ (beneath) and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a depiction of an ice-breaker amidst blocks of ice, on the background there is a boat in pure water, as well as inscriptions: “КАПІТАН БЄЛОУСОВ”, above in semicircle, and beneath - КРИГОЛАМ, horizontal depiction upon glass background.
