The commemorative coin “Vasyl Symonenko” with the face value of 2 hryvnias is dedicated to Vasyl Andriiovych Symonenko, a poet, prose writer and journalist, who held deservedly an important position within the Pleiad of the “shestydesiatnyky” (sixtiers). The poet’s work played a significant role in the Ukrainian literature of the XXth century and is a model of high civic consciousness.
