Mykhailo Lysenko

The coin is dedicated to the centenary of birth of Mykhailo Lysenko (1906 – 1972), a Ukrainian sculptor, People's artist of the USSR, academician, whose works beautify many  cities of Ukraine. In circulation since October 16, 2006.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse above there is depicted the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, beneath - there is the inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК/ УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), there are depicted  instruments of the sculptor, painter, graphic artist against the background of a conventionalized palette. Below - the inscriptions:  ДВІ ГРИВНІ/ 2006 (2 Hryvnia/2006) and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a portrait of Mykhailo Lysenko, against the background of the  portrait there are his years of life: 1906 – 1972; above there is a semicircular inscription: МИХАЙЛО ЛИСЕНКО (Mykhailo Lysenko).
