The coin is dedicated to 100^th anniversary of Serhiy Vsekhsviatsky (1905 – 1984), an outstanding Ukrainian astronomical scientist. As the founder of the department for astronomy at the Kyiv national university (1939), during 1939 – 1984 Vsekhsviatsky played a significant role in development and popularizing of the astronomy not only in Ukraine but in the whole world. In 1960 Serhiy Vsekhsviatsky made a presumption on the presence of a cup around the Jupiter, which was really discovered in 1979; he proved the presence of the "solar wind", which used to cause magnetic storms and had developed a dynamic theory of the "Solar corona".
