Maksym Rylsky

The coin is dedicated to 100th anniversary of Maksym Rylsky, a classic of the Ukrainian literature of 20th century, a talented translator, a scholar and a public figure. Rich heritage of the outstanding poet ("Roses and Grapes", "Distant Horizon", "Autumn in Golosijiv", etc.) has raised the modern Ukrainian poetry to the summits of world literature. In circulation since February 21, 2005.

On the coin obverse a conventionalized composition illustrating poetry is depicted, where roses and grapes are interlaced; left from the composition there is a two-lined inscription: УКРАЇНА, 2 ГРИВНІ, above it there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; under inscription - the small State Emblem of Ukraine and 2005, the coin mintage year.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse a portrait of Rylsky is depicted, left from which there is a vertical two-lined inscription: МАКСИМ РИЛЬСЬКИЙ; under the inscription - 1895-1964, his years of life.
