Pavlo Virsky

The coin is dedicated to 100th anniversary of Pavlo Virsky, a Ukrainian choreographer, people's artist of the USSR, who had made great contribution to the dancing development enriching it with masterly choreographic elements. Working as a choreographer of Odesa-, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv opera and ballet theatres and as an art director (1955 – 1975) of  Ensemble of Dancing (since 1977 called after him), Virsky maintained in his creative work principles of  folk dance adaptation for the stage and it was very organic combination with a classic dance.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there are semicircular inscriptions: УКРАЇНА (above), 2 ГРИВНІ and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (beneath); within the frame of a bead circle there is a composition symbolizing the Ukrainian dance - flowers with  ribbons, in the middle of which there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which there is the coin mintage year - 2005.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a half face portrait of Virsky, left from which and in two lines there are his years of life: 1905 – 1975, beneath in a semicircle there is an inscription: ПАВЛО ВІРСЬКИЙ.
