Mykhailo Kotsubynsky

The coin is dedicated to 140th anniversary of Mykhailo Kotsubynsky (1864 – 1913), a talented Ukrainian writer and a public figure who was born in the city of Vinnitsa. Mykhailo M. Kotsubynsky is the author of such famous works as: "Fata morgana", "Intermezzo", "Laughter",  "Apple Blossom" and " Shades of the forgotten ancestors", which are bright patterns of the Ukrainian prose of the end of 19th - beginning of 20th centuries. In circulation since August 20, 2004.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there is a depiction of a conventionalized composition made of Georhiy Yakutovych's engraving to  "Shades of the forgotten ancestors". Above there are: a half-circular inscription: УКРАЇНА, the coin mintage year – 2004 (left), the small State Emblem of Ukraine (right) and the coin face value – 2/ ГРИВНІ, left of the composition, as well as the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse a portrait of Mykhailo Kotsubynsky is depicted and circular inscriptions: 1864 • МИХАЙЛО КОЦЮБИНСЬКИЙ • 1913.
