Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi

The coin is dedicated to 85th anniversary of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi" (28.09.1918 - 02.09.1970), the Ukrainian pedagogue, honoured teacher of the USSR and the laureate of the State Prize of the USSR. Being the author of numerous scientific works (including "My heart is given to children") and many fiction books for children, he devoted all his life to children. 33 years he worked as a director of Pavliv secondary school in Kirovohrad region, cultivating civil dignity and faith in good essence of a human being and bringing up children to love their native land. In circulation since September 30, 2003.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse a horizontal composition is depicted based on Sukhomlynskyi's books. The composition  also  contains depiction of children having rest and taking up some school work. Above there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine (left), inscription УКРАЇНА and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; at the lower part of the coin field there is the coin mintage year and is face value - 2 ГРИВНІ.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a portrait of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi, to the left there is a depiction of a pen holder and his years of life: 1918-1970; to the right there is a semi-circular inscription:  В.О.СУХОМЛИНСЬКИЙ.
