Pavlo Polubotok

Commemorative coin of 10 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to Pavlo Polubotok (about 1660 – 1724), the appointed Hetman of the left-bank Ukraine, who headed the Ukrainian elders assembly and opposed restrictions to the self-government of Ukraine. He advocated restoration of Hetman ruling in Ukraine and liquidation of Minor-Russian collegium. He  for arrested for organization of opposition and was imprisoned in Peter and Paul fortress, where he died. He was interred in St.Petersburg.
In circulation since January 29, 2003.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there is a depiction of the general for this series composition symbolizing the national idea of Unification of Ukraine: the emblematic figures of the Holy Michael Archistrategos, the patron of Kiev and the crowned lion of L'viv principality hold the Small State Emblem of Ukraine. There are as well conventionalized inscriptions: УКРАЇНА / 2003 / 10 / ГРИВЕНЬ, the Mint logo of the National bank of Ukraine, as well as Ag 925, the designation of metal and 31,1, its pure weight.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse within the frame of a bead circle, there is a half-length portrait of Pavlo Polubotok and to the right there is Polubotok's coat of arms. Above, between the external rim of the coin and the bead circle, there is a conventionalized inscription: ПАВЛО ПОЛУБОТОК and beneath -1660 - 1724, his years of life.
