Leonid Hlibov

The coin is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Leonid Hlibov (1827-1893), a famous Ukrainian poet, fable writer, dramatist and literary critic. The author of over 100 fables, of famous poetry "Sadness", turned into a piece of music by Lysenko, was born and got education in Poltava region. Beginning from 1863, a number of copies of Hlibov's works are being printed. In circulation since September 24, 2002.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there are depicted a roll with the small state Emblem of Ukraine, inscriptions: 2002, УКРАЇНА, 2, ГРИВНІ and characters of "Musicians" fable, as well as the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a half-length portrait of Hlibov sitting at the table with a quill at his hand. Around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: ЛЕОНІД ГЛІБОВ (to the right) and his years of life 1827-1893 (to the left).
