Commemorative coin is dedicated to the 28th Summer Olympic Games, which are to take place in Athens (Greece) in 2004.In circulation since June 27, 2002.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse within a square there is an allegoric depiction of opening ceremony for Olympic Games two female figures dressed in tunics holding in their hands a bowl with a flame and laurel twigs - symbol of peace.Around the square there is a depiction of the small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscription: 2 ГРИВНІ ((beneath) 20-02 and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse within a square there is a frontal depiction of a swimmer on the background of water. Around the square there are such inscriptions: ІГРИ/ XXVIII ОЛІМПІАДИ (above), OLYMPIC GAMES/ XXVIII ((beneath), АФІНИ 2004 (to the left), ATHENS 2004 (to the right).
