National Bank of Kazakhstan has released "Basketball. Olympic Games 2016", commemorative coin made of proof-quality silver.

The National Bank of Ukraine has issued (12th May) two new coins "Remembrance for the Victims of Crimean Tatar Genocide" marking the somber anniversary of the forced deportation of Crimean Tartars from the peninsula during the second World War by order of Josef Stalin (1878 – 1953), leader of the Soviet Union from 1922 until 1952.

On 3rd May 2016, the Bank of Lithuania issued a 2 euro commemorative coin, dedicated to the Baltic culture. The national side of the 2 euro commemorative coin, issued into circulation by the Bank of Lithuania, bears one of the most salient symbols of Baltic culture — an amber disc-amulet.

Latvijas Banka issued a new 5 euro silver collector coin "Fairy Tale Coin II. Hedgehog's Coat" on 19th of April 2016. 

This is the second coin in a special collector coin series dedicated to the most dearly loved and significant Latvian fairy tales. The first one honouring the fairy tale about five cats was issued last year and has become highly popular.

The Transnistria Republican Bank has put into circulation 1 rouble coin "Taurus" from The Signs of Zodi

On February 24th, 2016, the National Bank of Ukraine put the commemorative coin "150 years of the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine" of 5 hryvnia face value into circulation from Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine
