50 Years of Crimea Joining Ukraine

The coin is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Crimea joining Ukraine. In February 1954 the Crimean region was attached to UkSSR. On February 12, 1991 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine "On the renewal of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic". On April 24, 1992 it was renamed for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea which is an autonomous administrative and territorial unit of Ukraine and its inseparable constituent part. It is situated in the south of the state on the Crimean peninsula. The area - 27 thousand km2, population - 2,221 million people.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse upon the background of а map of Ukraine there is a depiction of a sheaf consisted of 25 spikelets tied up with a jute, which symbolizes Ukraine. In the centre on the foreground there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the left under the map - the coin mintage year, to the right beneath - КРИМ inscription. On the coin there are semicircular inscriptions: УКРАЇНА (above), 5 ГРИВЕНЬ (beneath) and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse in the centre the Coat of arms of the the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is depicted, beneath - a bunch of grapes; the external and internal circles are linked with a jute, along the external circle there is a circular inscription: ВХОДЖЕННЯ КРИМУ ДО СКЛАДУ УКРАЇНИ, above in two lines - 50 РОКІВ.
